With a renewed vision and a mission to help other officials and fans learn the art and science of refereeing basketball, RekTek supersedes Xcel Officiating in 2025. The former mentoring program started by Alika in 2019 will continue to help many referees excel in their officiating careers under the new brand. But with the dozens of mentoring programs already out there, Alika wanted to do something unique in his pursuit to help other referees.

"Not everything in the rules of managing a game is black & white. There is an art to refereeing contests and managing each game. If we call every foul and violation according to the rules books, every game would last for hours. And the spectators are not there to watch referees blow their whistles. They're there to watch basketball. So it is our goal that while training other officials, we also educate fans as well."

Or maybe you want to get on that path to the pro level. RefTek Academy is designed to help you outline your goals and navigate the best path forward to achieving your goals.
